An Evening with Alan Ross

The Ansel Adams Gallery Presents.....

An Evening with Alan Ross

Ansel Adams' Darkroom Assistant

Join us for refreshments as Alan shares stories
about working for Ansel Adams and printing the Special Edition Photographs.

Wednesday, October 14, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm

Alan was Ansel Adams' Photographic Assistant in Carmel from 1974 to 1979, and was integrally involved with Adams' books, teaching in Yosemite, and production of fine prints. He has been the exclusive printer of Ansel Adams' Special Edition Prints for over thirty-five years and has made over ninety thousand prints from Adams' negatives.

Alan continues to teach for The Ansel Adams Gallery. His next workshop, Crafting the Black and White Photograph begins next week. This workshop is devoted to teaching the photographic process as an integrated whole, from the beginnings of picking up the camera to matting the finished print. Through a combination of classroom discussions, darkroom demonstrations, print critiques, and camera use to help students refine their black and white photographic process
